What the Extension Does

AI File Fixer is a Chrome extension that converts HEIC image files to JPEG format before they are uploaded to AI platforms (ChatGPT, Claude, Grok). The conversion happens locally in your browser using WebAssembly technology.

Data We Collect

We do not collect:

• Personal information
• File contents or metadata
• Usage analytics or telemetry
• Browsing history
• IP addresses
• Cookies or tracking identifiers

How File Conversion Works

When you upload a HEIC file to a supported AI platform:

1. The extension detects the file format in your browser
2. Conversion from HEIC to JPEG happens locally using WebAssembly
3. The converted file is passed to the AI platform
4. No copy of your file is stored anywhere

The only network request made is the one you initiated: uploading the (now converted) file to ChatGPT, Claude, or Grok.

Permissions Explained

The extension requests the following permissions:

Host permissions for chatgpt.com, claude.ai, grok.com, x.com: Required to intercept file uploads on these specific sites. The extension does not run on any other websites.
Offscreen document: Required to run the WebAssembly conversion code in a secure context.

Third-Party Services

AI File Fixer does not use any third-party services, analytics platforms, or external APIs. The extension is entirely self-contained.

Data Storage

The extension does not store any data locally or remotely. No files, preferences, or usage data are saved.

Children's Privacy

This extension does not collect any personal information from anyone, including children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

If we make changes to this privacy policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top. Since we don't collect any data, meaningful changes are unlikely.
